"When I came to Microsoft in August 2020, Parag was one of the first team members to welcome me. I was soon assigned a role in assisting him with UX work using React. I was astounded by both Parag’s technical knowledge around UX design and development using React, as well as his ability to quickly, yet patiently, bring me up to speed. When I started to get familiar with the codebase and the work Parag had already completed, I noticed right away that he made testing and error handling a top priority, making sure to account for edge cases that could potentially cause future issues. The code that Parag produced also tended to be highly efficient. I noticed several instances where he came up with clever solutions to reduce API calls or frontend processing to reduce latency and improve the overall user experience. Along with Parag’s technical ability, he was also a great mentor for a new hire such as myself. He gave me great advice on how to best learn from the technical experience of each member of the team, as well as how to prioritize deadlines and communicate effectively with different layers of management.
